# Introduction and Requirements

KOMOJU currently supports Google Pay™ via KOMOJU's Hosted Page.

Before using Google Pay™ via KOMOJU, please carefully review and adhere to the [Google Pay™ web brand guidelines.](https://developers.google.com/pay/api/web/guides/brand-guidelines) KOMOJU's Hosted Page strictly adheres to these guidelines, but you must also adhere to them on any page or flow that you have for your customers upstream or downstream from our Hosted Page.

Our hosted page integration with Google Pay™ simplifies your ability to provide Google Pay™ as a payment option to your customers. You must additionally complete the following essential steps to enable Google Pay™ functionality:

- Adhere to Google policies: all merchants are required to follow the [Google Pay™ and Wallet API's Acceptable Use Policy](https://payments.developers.google.com/terms/aup) and accept the terms defined in the [Google Pay™ API Terms of Service](https://payments.developers.google.com/terms/sellertos).

To accept payments via Hosted Page, please refer [to our detailed guide](https://docs.komoju.com/en/docs/integration-guides/hosted-page-standard-mode.md).

To make use of Google Pay™, you additionally need to already be approved to accept Credit Card payments via KOMOJU (VISA / MasterCard only). Please check the Payment Methods section of your Merchant Dashboard to check which Card Networks you are currently interfaced with via KOMOJU.

# Scope and 3DS

Google Pay™ supports two types of card credentials: `PAN_ONLY` (physical card details stored in Google Pay™ - with standard 3DS flow, see below) and `CRYPTOGRAM_3DS` (tokenized virtual card stored on device - no 3DS required as authentication is performed by Google Pay™).

Our implementation currently only accepts `PAN_ONLY` integration at this stage and is currently restricted to Japan. We are working with our acquirers to accept `CRYPTOGRAM_3DS` and will update this page once we support it.

Because all Google Pay™ payments are `PAN_ONLY` with our current implementation, this allows us to process the Google Pay™ transactions as standard Credit Card payments. This means that 3D Secure (3DS) is performed on these transactions. This is done automatically from our Hosted Page, and no further action is needed on your side to use 3DS.

Note that we will automatically send an internal UUID mapped to each specific merchant account to Google Pay™ for each payment (using Google Pay™ parameter `gatewayMerchantID` , we will also provide Google Pay™ with `gateway` value "komoju").

# Card Networks

With the current `PAN_ONLY` card credential, we support Visa, Master Card, JCB, AMEX, and Discover card Card Network, depending on your active Credit Card Onboarding status.

Our Hosted Page will automatically communicate to Google Pay™ the Card Networks you are currently onboarded for using Google Pay's `allowedCardNetworks` property. As this is done automatically, there is no work required on your side.

# Using Hosted Page with Google Pay™

In practice, to use Google Pay™ via our Hosted Page, you need to create a Session as per [our detailed guide](https://docs.komoju.com/en/docs/integration-guides/hosted-page-standard-mode.md) for Hosted Page. In this Session, use the `google_pay` payment slug, which you can use in combination with other payment methods to allow your customers to choose their preferred payment method directly from within our Hosted Page. You can view the detailed parameters list [on this page](https://docs.komoju.com/en/api-reference#2025-01-28/tag/sessions/POST/sessions).

Additionally, should you provide Billing Address or Shipping Address as part of the `payment_data` object, these will be communicated to Google Pay™ via their [BillingAddressParameters](https://developers.google.com/pay/api/web/reference/request-objects#BillingAddressParameters) and/or [ShippingAddressParameters](https://developers.google.com/pay/api/web/reference/request-objects#ShippingAddressParameters) parameters. This however isn't required for KOMOJU to process your payment, but has advantages such as increasing seamless 3DS success rate.

Please also note that as this is a Hosted Page integration, you never get direct access to the Google Pay™ encrypted payloads. This is all handled by our Hosted Page, so no handling is required on your end.

# Using Google Pay™ with WooCommerce

If your WooCommerce store accepts Google Pay™ for payments, please confirm the following two things:

- You're running the latest version of our WooCommerce plugin.
- The "Inline Payment Fields" option is disabled for Google Pay™.

## How to disable Inline Payment Fields

1. In your WordPress admin dashboard, go to "WooCommerce > Settings > Payments".
2. Click on "Google Pay".
3. Turn off the "Inline Payment Fields" option.
4. Save your changes.

That's it! Once disabled, your Google Pay™ checkout will continue to work as expected.
